The Northwest Kidney Council (NWKC) were proud to join the 2025 Seattle Walk for PKD, a community event dedicated to raising awareness and funding for polycystic kidney disease (PKD) research. The annual walk, organized by our partners at the PKD Foundation, brought together kidney dialysis patients, families, providers, and advocates who share a common goal: to improve the lives of people impacted by PKD.
For NWKC, participating in the walk was an opportunity to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with kidney dialysis patients and the providers who care for them. Each step taken represented a commitment to advancing early detection and treatment for PKD, a leading cause of kidney failure.
Events like the Seattle Walk for PKD remind us advocacy doesn’t just happen in policy meetings. It happens in our communities, through connection and shared purpose. NWKC remains dedicated to supporting efforts that improve kidney dialysis patient outcomes, promote kidney health awareness, and strengthen the network of kidney dialysis and transplant providers across the Northwest.
We’re grateful to the PKD Foundation and the Seattle kidney community for another inspiring day of movement, hope, and progress.
